Today has been challenging. Today has been a reminder of how fragile life is, especially life of an early term baby.
Lennyn has been diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension. In pulmonary hypertension, the blood vessels of the lungs have an increased amount of muscle in the walls. This causes a higher resistance in the lungs. The right ventricle then has to work harder to pump blood out to the lungs. The right ventricle will enlarge and thicken in response to this extra work. With time, the extra work placed on the right side of the heart can cause it to fail. We’re waiting on Echo-cardiogram results to see the current condition of her heart.
We’re living second by second. Transplants, bigger hospitals, and continued advanced care have all been discussed. We are just trying to stay as positive as possible. We appreciate everyone giving us privacy during this time. I’ll continue you to update everyone as her treatment continues.
Be still my heart and keep giving it your all.
